On Friday 22 April 2005, I accompanied Robert Barnett on the final, northernmost stretch of the Cotswold Way, which he had been walking in aid of Stow-on-the-Wold Youth Club.

We started out at 9 o'clock from Stanway, my favourite small village in Gloucestershire.
